About Szép László Bőrműves
Szép László qualified as a folk leather-goods maker in 2001 and has held the Folk Applied Artist title since 2014. His work combines practical leathercraft with motifs drawn especially from Conquest-period and Hungarian folk ornament. His archery work includes made-to-order quivers, armguards and weapon belts. The wider workshop also produces tarsoly pouches, bags and belts, and László uses a range of traditional leather-working techniques rather than relying on a single decorative style. His work has also appeared in juried exhibitions and national folk-craft competitions.
