About Kassai
Lajos Kassai began commercially producing bows in 1988, building on earlier work by Károly Cs. Sebestyén and Gyula Fábián to develop a modern-material reconstruction of the Hungarian bow of the Conquest period. His bow making then developed alongside the riding-and-shooting system that became the Kassai method of horseback archery. This gives the equipment a clear practical context: the bows are designed not only around historical form, but around repeated use from horseback and on the ground. The current range includes compact and longer designs, resin and laminated constructions, and models for different archer sizes. Published specifications are unusually detailed, covering draw length, draw weight, brace height, materials and intended use, which makes the catalogue useful for comparing traditional bow designs rather than simply browsing model names.
