World 3D Archery Championships 2026 — Szilvásvárad, Hungary
Szilvásvárad hosts the 5th World 3D Archery Championship from 30 August to 6 September, with the Lipizzaner Equestrian Centre serving as the heart of the event. With 799 entries from 864 available places, the championship brings a substantial field to Hungary. For traditional archers, the programme is particularly interesting because Traditional Recurve, Traditional Longbow and Primitive Bow & Horsebow have their own divisions within the competition. Three full competition days run from 1 to 3 September. Team qualification and finals follow on 4 September, before the individual finals and awarding ceremony on 5 September. 3D archery replaces the repetition of a fixed target with changing distances, angles and animal-shaped targets. In Szilvásvárad, that means traditional recurves, longbows, primitive bows and horsebows are being tested across the same kind of varied terrain that makes 3D archery distinctive. Nearly 800 entries, several traditional bow divisions and three days on the 3D courses make Szilvásvárad one of the traditional archery events worth watching this week. Sacred Stag will follow the championship and its results.
