Cupa Castelul Károlyi 2026

Cupa Castelul Károlyi 2026

Traditional archery returns to the grounds of Károlyi Castle in Carei on 17 October, with a 24-target course laid out in the castle's dendrological park. The format gives archers three arrows at each target, scored 10, 8, 5 or 0. The bow divisions make the field particularly varied: HBM and HBN cover windowless horsebows and longbows, with HBN reserved for bows made from natural materials. BHR and TR-RB add modern longbow and bowhunter equipment, while historical crossbow has its own HC division. Barebow and Olympic divisions are also included. Seven age groups run from Minimini (7–9) through to Veteran (55+), making this a broad competition rather than an adults-only field. Registration and warm-up run through the morning, followed by the technical meeting at 09:30 and the first competition arrows at 10:00. Prize-giving is scheduled for 16:00. Entry fees are 120 RON for Young Adult, Adult Senior and Veteran; 80 RON for Cadet and Junior Cadet; and 60 RON for Mini and Minimini. Lunch can be ordered separately for 30 RON. The setting is part of what makes this one worth noticing: instead of a conventional sports field, the 24-target round takes place among the grounds of Károlyi Castle.
